The Fish Church of Gothenburg was established in the 1874 when the wives of the fishermen needed a building to sell the fish from. As an answer to their requests, the then city architect built this fish market and gave it a gothic church-like touch to attract tourists.

Resembling a church from the outside,   Visiting Gothenburg Archipelago is a must, as is sampling everything from modern gastronomy to 'fika' to the fresh-caught wonders at Feskekörka (Fish Church). Boasting the largest harbor in Scandinavia, Gothenburg is always dipped in sea breeze and seafood flavors.

After the boat tour, I made my way to Feskekorka, the fish church which apparently got its name from the building’s resemblance to a Neo-gothic church.
